Direct sunlight isn't always a bad thing.
Shira and Chrystal celebrated their marriage this past week in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The brides wanted to have photos near the Flatiron Building in Chelsea, which could have been a problem in the direct sunlight of the afternoon (direct sunlight is usually very unflattering). Fortunately, the sun was diffused by a smattering of thin clouds, allowing for several portraits with just the right atmosphere.

Who needs a limo when you have the subway?
The bridal party met us at the portrait location in Chelsea, and hopped the F train (subway) to DUMBO. Classic NYC transportation. The ceremony and reception were both held at a loft space overlooking Manhattan across the East River.

Bride and bride, under the chuppah.
A private ceremony took place on the roof, incorporating Jewish traditions into this non-traditional ceremony. Family members took part in the seven blessings, and everyone cheered wildy as the brides each crushed a glass to close the celebration. The reception included a slide show by Shira’s father, and many toasts from friends and family alike.
