What Broadway production is complete without a Playbill?
July 18 was the first truly sunny day New York has seen in quite some time… and it came right on cue for the wedding of Jennifer Green and Darren Reynolds. Jennifer is a Broadway fixture, and her and Darren’s wedding was planned as a Broadway extravaganza… complete with a custom Playbill (designed by Lori Barclay) and Tony Award winning vocals. Her father, Jack, quipped in his speech at the reception that he was most excited since this was his first time featured in a Broadway playbill.

The perfect day--just in time for photos in Central Park.
Dave met the bride and her bridal party at a posh room in the Carlton Hotel where the bride prepared with the help of trusted hair and makeup artists. With not a second to spare, the elegantly dressed ladies rushed to Central Park to meet the groom and his best man. And while the sun was out in full force, it didn’t wilt the couple’s spirits enough to prevent taking some gorgeous photos.

The ceremony took place at the cavernous St. Pauls Chapel at Columbia University, where guests received a custom “wedding playbill”, complete with “cast” bios and “advertisements”. The ceremony was led by John Helm, a family friend and hospital chaplain from Louisville, and featured the vocal talents of Tony Award-Winning Broadway performer Sutton Foster as well as readings by close friend of the bride Edie Nehls and the groom’s brother Keith Reynolds.

Family and friends from across the United States gathered for the event–no small task considering the sheer distance involved for many of the guests. Credit goes to Broadway Company Manager Denys Baker for acting as de facto wedding planner, and making the day run smoothly.

Broadway is never going to be the same...
The newlyweds made sure to pass through the heart of Broadway’s Times Square on the way to the reception at Manhattan Penthouse in Gramercy.

The night wore on in style with entertainment provided by JM Music–and playing for an audience of Broadway performers, they had their hands full (and were more than up to the challenge)! Both the Maid of Honor (and sister to the bride) Molly Green and Best Man Leonard Baquian gave heartfelt speeches, praising the obviously happy couple. A surprise feature of the night was a rocking saxophone solo by the bride’s brother Robbie Green.
All in all, the wedding was an enjoyable, upbeat affair celebrating the union of a couple very much in love.
